    Have you seen…
    Mob Farm Rules and Regulations

    What are they?
A new page has appeared under the "Information" tab at the top of the website. As of 2015 July 1, official rules and regulations have been established for players who wish to create mob farms of any kind on the server. @InfiniteCorners has written a thorough set of guidelines that will make sure you can harvest mobs without crashing our server.

You can read the full page here.

    What's the short version?
To be short… there is no short version. If you plan on making a mob farm (either with friendly mobs, hostile mobs, a gold farm, or something else), you will be expected to read this guide to make sure that staff members do not have to kill your mobs, break your spawners, or flatten your gold farms.

Have any questions about the rules and regulations? Ask in the thread below!

Not sure if serious or trolling, but it is all explained on said page, so check there.

Possibly, but at this point in time, we will not be introducing them back into the game when the world is still this young. We'll see where things go in 2015 and Minecraft 1.9. Besides, now we know 1.9 isn't coming at MINECON (source: Dinnerbone's Twitter), so it looks like we'll be settling into 1.8 for a while now.

Even though 1.9 will not be released at Minecon, do you think we'll be able to update to the 1.9 Snapshots instead (Dinnerbone's Twitter) and when the full update comes out we update to that?

It is not as easy to switch a semi-vanilla server to snapshots. All the plugins have to be able to support the snapshots, PaperCraft/Bukkit has to support the snapshots, and that is after bugs are removed/stabilized.
