@fortification45 was telling me about this on the server tonight. Seems like Mojang is busy with their bug fixes. I wonder when the omnipresent hand of Microsoft will begin to make its appearance.
1.8.1 Pre-release 2
1.8.1 Pre-release 3
Although you have to wonder why they have so many bugs to fix when they spent months and months on this update. Do they not do testing before they launch? It bugs me that apparently now we have multiple 'dev' releases of update bug fixes. Why are the pre-release 1, 2 and 3? We went from Minecraft 1.7 to 1.7.10 without any 'pre-releases' of them. Hopefully one of these 'bug fixes' will correct their horrible misuse of java garbage collection and put the code back in order so it can be optimized by the folks at optifine. If the way 1.8 runs is just going to be their new benchmark for coding MC, and optifine can't fix the lag they're causing as a result, then I doubt I'd ever play MC 1.8.anything
You didn't happen to hear about the bug where players can OP themselves via signs on a vanilla 1.8 server, did you?
LOL! I had not. GG Mojang- like vanilla wasn't easy enough to hack before.
Errr… I just realized that this was one of the secret bugs in 1.8… technically wasn't supposed to share it yet since 1.8.1 isn't out yet. >.>
You didn't hear it from me.
1.8.1 Pre-release 4
1.8.1 Pre-Release 5
And 1.8.1 should be fully released on Monday.
Hooray for bug fixes! Something else fantastic is happening next week too. But that's a surprise!
is it.. what i think it is..
Maybe… maybe not.
1.8.1 is now available in everyone's launcher window and it is compatible with 1.8!!!
Here is the wiki page with the full details.
Yay, no more force-OP command signs!
1.8.2 Pre-release 1
I saw that yesterday as well. Seems like it's a pretty minor release.
1.8.2 Pre-release 3
1.8.2 Pre-release 4
Say goodbye to bedrock eating trees.
