Since 1.13 is right around the corner, will the CCMC world reset for this update? after all there will be major changes and I feel like it would be needed and/or wanted by many other players also but idk.

You hate me, don't you? You hate me and all the work I've done and all the building I've invested in. You seethe at the idea of me living in anything but a crudely-built, dimly-lit half-a-stack-of-dirt shack two-hundred blocks from spawn. In fact, the thought of me coddled up in a one-tile foxhole with a trapdoor for an entrance, restarting my farm for the 83rd time with nothing but a carrot, two eggs and an egg-shaped snowball is your greatest delight. Why does your murderous rage burn against me so?

There are no plans to reset the world with the release of of 1.13. There are some big changes in 1.13 however nothing in it is so expansive that the world would need regenerated. I've already played my own 1.12 worlds in 1.13 and there are no chunk errors or problems with the game generating the new oceans. People spend a lot of time and energy building their homes on CCMC and I don't see any reason to undo all that work without good cause.

Good, I'm glad our centuries-long rivalry can finally come to the end; pity that it could not have been so some millennia sooner in one of our earlier reincarnations, so the billions of innocent mortals slain in the wake of our legendary clashes across the galaxy might have been saved. At least they rest peacefully now.

But isn't the 1.13 update a major one?

Yes, 1.13 is a major update that includes the addition of lots of additional features and pretty much a total overhaul of the entire code base. That said, this isn't going to be like 1.7 where the generation changed so radically that old chunks and new chunks no longer lined up with one another making it instantly apparent which chunks were pre-1.17 and which ones were new. In the worlds I have converted from 1.12 to 1.13 in vanilla have had no visible indication of which chunks were new and which ones were old beyond the fact old oceans do not generate the vegetation or structures. The mobs still spawn as they should, the shipwrecks and such just were never generated. Plenty of CCMC hasn't been generated yet and we already plan to increase the world 25-50k upon release to make sure players have plenty of space to spread out into new terrain.
I don't like resetting the world unnecessarily. I've always liked the fact that you can build something on CCMC and a year and a half later log back on right into your old base. The benefit of resetting for 1.13 is outweighed by the loss of player effort that has been exerted since the last reset. Eventually another world reset will be needed, either due to game changes or the files growing too large, but I don't see the need for it now.
